PM Kisan Registration: New Farmer Apply Online

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) is a program initiated by the Indian Government to provide income support to the families of landholding farmers across the country.

This Central Government Yojana is designed to offer financial assistance to farmers for purchasing inputs related to agriculture and allied activities, as well as fulfilling their domestic needs. The yojana extends support to all landholding farmer families who own cultivable lands, and is fully funded by the Government of India.

The primary objective of PM-Kisan is to supplement the financial needs of farmers and help them procure necessary inputs to ensure better crop health and yield. Under the scheme, eligible farmer families are identified by the respective State Government and UT administration, and the funds are transferred directly to their bank accounts.

PM Kisan Launch Date

On 1 December 2018, an informal launch of a scheme took place. However, it was formally launched on 24 February 2019 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur district.

This yojana is specifically targeted towards farmers who can now apply for it online. Upon successful approval of their application, they will receive Rs. 2000 deposited into their bank account every three months. This initiative serves as a significant step in providing aid and support to farmers across the country.

PM Kisan Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for obtaining benefits under this Yojana include all families of landholder farmers.

To be considered a landholder farmer's family, the family unit must comprise a husband, wife, and any minor children who own cultivable land, as documented in the land records of their respective state or union territory. The current land ownership system is used to identify beneficiaries, ensuring that only those who meet the criteria are eligible for the program.

PM Kisan Yojana Benefits

The PM Kisan initiative provides a significant income boost to all farming families who own cultivable land, regardless of their landholding size. This scheme offers an income support of Rs.6,000 per year and disburses the amount in three equal installments annually. The installments are provided to the farmers at regular intervals, thereby facilitating a steady source of income for them.
